Protest Rally for banning cow slaughter in WB

Various NGOs and social service groups jointly organized a Save Cows rally in Kolkata on Sunday - 30th September 2012 in Kolkata from Bhawanipur to Esplanade and From Burrabazar to Esplanade.

The key objectives were to urge the West Bengal Government to : -

1) The police authorities and Government must create public awareness about the Kolkata High Court Law on ban on cow slaughter. This can be done using various methods like press release in print and electronic media and also announce using loudspeakers in autos and other vehicles to stop setting up illegal cattle market and kill cows during Bakrid.

2) Arrest the culprits who are violating the law as this is a non-bailable offense.

We hope the Honble Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee would take action on this and we assure the following: -

1) We will vote to only that political party / leader which helps support save cows and enforce a complete ban on cow exports and cow slaughter within the state and Indian nation. (Here WE implies a MAJORITY GROUP of citizens and associations who contribute to more than 50% of the vote bank - like Arya Samaj, Bara Bazaar Maheshwari Sabha, Punjabi Bradiri, B. B. Yuvak Sangha, Jaiswal Samaj, Agarwal Samaj, Ram Krishna Mission, Marwari Relief Society, ISKCON, Art of Living Foundation, PETA, WorldAnimal.net, India Against Corruption team, Lions Club,

2) We understand that Bengal is cash strapped since the Trinamool Government came into power. Our group of investors and business community will also invest in West Bengal with fresh funds and new projects which will generate employment for the youth and direct and indirect taxes for the Government. But first the above objective must be fulfilled.

Now its upto the government to decide what it wants to do...take WB to one of the leading and progressive states like Gujarat or keep cribbing about the centre's policy paralysis and no support.
